ଆଇସିଏମଆରର ଅର୍ଥ ହେଉଛି ଇଣ୍ଡିଆନ୍ କାଉନସିଲ୍ ଅଫ୍ ମେଡିକାଲ ରିସର୍ଚ୍ଚ। ବାୟୋମେଡିକାଲ ଗବେଷଣା ପାଇଁ ଏହା ଭାରତର ସର୍ବୋଚ୍ଚ ସଂସ୍ଥା। ଭାରତ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ଓ ପରିବାର କଲ୍ୟାଣ ମନ୍ତ୍ରଣାଳୟର ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ଗବେଷଣା ବିଭାଗ ଅଧୀନରେ ଆଇସିଏମଆର କାର୍ୟ୍ୟ କରୁଛି।
